Osprey Village, located near Jacksonville on Amelia Island in Florida, has both independent living and assisted living housing options. The community’s independent living homes include two- or three-bedroom cottages and one- or two-bedroom villa apartments. The cottages range in size from 1,566 to 2,112 square feet.
All homes are customizable and designed to meet the needs of independent seniors. The villa apartments are ideal for individuals or couples who want to downsize, with floor plans ranging from 908 to 1,206 square feet. Each unit is equipped with a 24-hour emergency call system, and the community includes a dining room and clubhouse.
ASSISTED LIVING AND MEMORY CARE
Osprey Village’s assisted living area is known as The Retreat. It is staffed 24 hours with a registered nurse and amenities that include spacious units with private baths, medication management, meals prepared by an Executive Chef and an “Any Time Menu.” Other community amenities include housekeeping and laundry services, activities, wellness classes and programs, personal transportation, assistance with daily activities, and a hair salon.
The community’s memory care area is known as Reflections at the Retreat. Apartments in this part of the community feature accommodations tailored to those dealing with Alzheimer’s or dementia, and activities for memory care are overseen by Certified Dementia Practitioners. Physical, occupational and speech therapy are all available, and there is a secured outdoor area and holistic wellness program.
ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS
Social and wellness activities are a big part of Osprey Village. Residents can take part in special meals at local restaurants and organized outings to local theaters, attractions, museums, tours and shopping excursions. On-site, residents can participate in a large array of activities, from exercise classes to movie nights and game nights. Some recent social events at Osprey Village have included a Brazilian Carnival Night, a Hawaiian Luau and a Mardi Gras Celebration.
AMELIA ISLAND CLUB
A major draw of Osprey Village at Amelia Island is The Amelia Island Club. The club has a Signature Long Point golf course, 23 clay courts, a 20-yard heated indoor pool at the athletic club, two outdoor pools and two restaurants. Membership to the Amelia Island Club is included in the extensive amenity package for cottage owners.
