Lakeside at Waterman Village is Waterman Village's second retirement community, located on the Waterman Village campus. There are 119 independent living apartments and 40 independent living duplex homes with garages. Lakeside residents have priority access to the skilled nursing, assisted living, and memory care facilities located on the Waterman Village campus. Lakeside residents also have access to all the amenities at the Oaks at Waterman Village retirement community, located directly across the street from Lakeside, and is connected to The Oaks by a bridge over Donnelly Street. While Lakeside does require a buy-in fee, which is very common for communities that have ALL levels of living on one campus and multiple amenities, the buy in fee uniquely offers high lifetime refundable provisions. Lakeside opened in 2023. Mount Dora was ranked the top small town in Florida to retire to by a major national newspaper.
