Constructed in 1914, The Clarke Hotel was the premier destination for social and political events in the Hastings area for many years. Fully renovated in 1987, The Clarke was transformed into The Kensington and earned a place on the National Register of Historic Places. The Kensington is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Hastings -- just a stroll away from shopping, banks, and everybody's favorite cookie shop.
Original tiled floors, marble pillars and polished brass rails on the open staircase and upper mezzanine surround the comfortable living room with elegance. The adjoining game room walls feature ceramic brick and life-size Italian murals painted in 1916. Ornate plaster work graces the walls and vaulted ceiling of the beautiful dining room.
