They are all just a short walk away. Davis Home accepts private pay, Vermont Medicaid including Assistive Community Care Services (ACCS) and Choices For Care also known as enhanced residential care (ERC) residents.

At an Old Home day celebration in Windsor, August 16, 1901, one of the distinguished speakers was the Honorable Gilbert A. Davis. He summarized the many needs of the community, among which was a home for older adults, to be organized under the Act of 1892 which had been introduced in the Vermont State Senate. A large committee was appointed but no action was taken. It was not until 1955 that such a home was made possible by the daughter-in-law of Gilbert A. Davis and widow of his son, Gilbert F. Davis, who left her home and furnishings on State Street, and a trust fund to help maintain it, to be known as The Davis Home. The Davis Home operated as an assisted care home for 45 years when in August 2000 the Board of Trustees made the decision to close the home. It was purchased and re-opened in October 2000 and has been flourishing ever since. Carrie Jewell purchased the Davis Home on January 1, 2006.
